6 Foods to Eat that Encourage Fat Loss

Green tea

Green tea is very beneficial to our health as it is full of antioxidants and other plant compounds. Green tea contains a small amount of caffeine, which is a helpful fat-burning stimulant. Within the tea’s antioxidants, you will find a substance called epigallocatechin gallate or EGCG, which, like caffeine, can improve metabolism.

Green tea contains certain compounds which boost hormone levels that instruct fat cells to decompose of fat. This, in turn, sends the fat into the bloodstream and is then used as energy. So next time you’re thirsty, take a pass on that juice or soda and instead have a cup of green tea.

Nuts have a wide range of benefits as they are full of antioxidants and nutrients. These benefits include heart disease and diabetes protection. Nuts are high in fat meaning they are also high in calories, although, they are not linked to weight gain.

Consuming small portions of nuts can reduce hunger and cause you to feel full for a longer period. So, by implementing more nuts into your diet you will, therefore, eat less during the rest of the day.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil consists of a combination of fatty acids; Medium Chain Triglycerides. These are the fatty acids that metabolize in a different way to other fats. This leads to greater health effects on metabolism, which is what Coconut oil does when consumed. Coconut oil still contains calories, so replace your usual cooking fats with coconut oil to reap the benefits without over consuming on calories.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar lowers blood sugar and insulin levels in diabetics, as well as reduce appetite and improve belly fat loss. A study over a 12-week period showed a group of people who consumed 1 or 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar a day lost 1.2kg – 1.7kg of weight whilst sticking to their usual eating habits. A recommended 1-2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar a day will have weight loss effects.

Split Peas

Split peas contain complex carbohydrates, meaning they are a great source of energy. They are also high in minerals, vitamins, and fibre. Split peas are low energy density food. This means that they have little calories per gram, making you feel full and consume fewer calories.

This fruit contains healthy fats, fibre, vitamins, and minerals. Avocados help you feel full for longer, as foods that are high in fat and fibre help you feel more satisfied and fuller. Your body is more likely to use stored body fat when you consume healthy fats such as avocado.
